Description: Bachelor Simon Collection. Overton-110. Evidence of cracks on either side had not yet occurred when this splendidly detailed example fell off the minting press in the first half of 1795 when all flowing-hair examples were struck, but faint clash marks have already formed above the eagle's shoulder. For type collectors familiar with the challenges of finding a nice 1795, this example features boldly raised rims and dentilation, pleasantly original surface color and adjustment marks limited strictly to the very upper right reverse. A brief pinscratch left of the date blended into the patina decades ago and offers no distraction from steady eye-appeal.
