Description: Arturio James Collection. While not a coin that might normally make it into a nationally recognized auction, the market for what has recently been termed "contemporary graffiti" has shown surprising activity over the past few years. Just look at the cataloger's experience at the last two FUN shows, for example! In this case, the consignor reports inheriting this dollar from "Uncle Ed", although neither of them seems to have ever been aware of 1928's status as a key. Neither is actually a collector, for that matter, but the dollar served as a pocket souvenir for decades. Inscribed on the front is: "Just for / car fair (sic) / Ed. / 2-24-45".
