The boxes themselves have aged well, each facing page stating 1776 1876 CENTENNIAL COMMEMORATION MEDAL / AUTHORIZED & PROTECTED BY ACT OF CONGRESS. Cataloger's grades] and descriptions are as follows: first is MS-63, light hairlines, blazing color induced by the storage box itself and very attractive), and second is MS-62, more hairlines than the preceding with only tinges of spearmint toning overall. Both are borderline prooflike examples regardless of cleaning for this two medal lot.
