Description: Bert Davies Collection. 28 graded MS-66, 17 higher at NGC. Significantly scarcer in mint-state than either of the other branch emissions for 1929, elusiveness of the 1929-D can easily be verified by reviewing the population report from either grading service. Virtually no post-mint abrasions show across the entire surface of this pristine example, although the softly struck high relief areas retain pre-strike planchet texture. A mush mintmark shows beneath platinum-grey patina overall.
