Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1847 PCGS MS-64 CACCAC
Lot Number: 714
Description: 6 graded MS-64, 8 higher at PCGS. A decidedly large mintage of 1.16-million failed to ensure an adequate supply of high-grade 1847 half-dollars as the date is a well-known grade-rarity within the series -- virtually unknown at the gem grade level. Subtle luster cascades through the fields, undulating beneath a layer of delightful, original patina with bronze-gold glow nearer the peripheral areas and broad swaths of lilac-silver nearer the centers. A batch of trivial hairline abrasions gather into the obverse right field and undoubtedly determine the grade.
