Description: GR-5 (R.6+) identifies instantly by noticing the large, arcing die crack across the lower reverse. In addition, this is a phenomenally original example that even features prominent adjustment marks not typically seen for a reeded-edge half-dollar. The Dick Graham reference suggest that GR-5 is by far the rarest die-marriage for 1838 as the reverse die presumably had a very short lifespan due to the crack.
