Description: High Promises Collection. 21 graded MS-64, 2 higher at NGC. Type I / I, large mintmark, no period. Even circulated, the 1874-S seems elusive but mint-state examples are downright rare, and all this despite a hefty mintage of over 2.5-million. The present example falls quite close to a perfect strike and the reverse shows unusually well detailed feathers and talons, while each obverse star pops up with authority. Pleasing almond tone overlays the satiny, lustrous finish.
