Description: Bolender-4, BB-186 (R.4), and a better early die-state of an already very scarce die-marriage. The bottom of "T" in UNITED has been double punched leading to quick attribution per Bolender, but most seen are taken off of later clashed dies and have weaker strikes. This example is not truly prime, showing a subtle die crack diagonally through "18" in the date, but has many characteristics of early dies, lacking clashes that will weaken the dies and cause poor strikes later. Steely bluish tone and Navy-grey dominate the surface, accenting bold details and a decently vintage appearance.
