Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1929 PCGS MS-65
Lot Number: 485
Description: The First Through Last Collection. 28 graded MS-65, 8 higher at PCGS. The end of the series is rife with rarities, beginning with Philadelphia's 1929. The vast majority of the large output was melted down for use as gold bars (to be stored in the Fort Knox Bullion Depository), leaving a slim population available to collectors today at any grade. Characteristic of the date, this coin offers precision details and delightful ultra-fine matte luster, as well as curious die-rotation often seen. A handful of tiny contact marks pepper Liberty's striding figure, including one on her chin, yet nothing really requires individual mention. Slight strike doubling shows along the rightmost stars.
