Description: Bert Davies Collection. Crosby 3-C (R.3), "blunt rays". NGC has unfairly dinged this dark, leather-brown example for "environmental damage", which is far too many syllables dedicated to an early copper that merely has survived with original surfaces intact. Some grungy deposits remain on the surface but only contribute to the humble charm. 3-C has a small US on the date side and an "S" shaped 8 in the date, as well as blunt rays around the disembodied eyeball.
