Description: Bert Davies Collection. Both logotypes for 1873 become available with acquisition of this underrated pairing. "Open 3" features powder-brown surfaces with a hint of purple toning, and the telltale "apostrophe" at the bottom of the neck that helps verify the Snow-7 variety. This is a somewhat scarcer Snow attribution worthy of a premium bid. Included is "Closed 3" Snow-1, highly desirable for the doubled-die obverse, and while PCGS correctly notes "environmental damage", the obverse depicts scarcely any evidence of this while roughness on the reverse nearly disappears into the rustic toning. Two coin lot.
