Description: Bert Davies Collection. A very good strike and fabulous luster denote 1897-S as a particularly choice example, this coin showing splash of violet-grey and aqua on the obverse. Meanwhile, as a true "slider UNC", the 1898-S features absolutely full luster over coral-grey surfaces, showing only the most delicate hint imaginable of touch-friction on the cheek, the peak of the cap and over the eagle's breast. San Francisco only in this two coin lot.
