Description: On Target Collection. Very elusive at true mint-state levels, 1871-S is best accessed by the mainstream collector in premium AU condition. Here is a phenomenally original example that warrants every bit of a "plus" and a sticker as both sides exude warm, ash-gold patina with generous mint luster, especially on the reverse. As with many San Francisco gold emissions, these tend to come heavily abraded yet this superb example has managed to evade major contact.
