Description: Ms. Anna's Collection. 17 graded MS-63, 16 higher at NGC. All Indian quarter-eagles deserve to be called "condition rarities" at some grade level, but that level lowers considerably for the famous 1911-D, made all the more notable when a coin earns the "strong D" designation. That the mintmark shows plainly can be verified with naked-eye examination. Under closer scrutiny, the boldness of strike becomes even more plain, as does some lime-green buttercup iridescence that mixes around over the lustrous surface. The cataloger finds extremely limited abrasions that are suggestive of a significantly higher grade, making this a fabulous choice for the connoisseur.
