Description: Barrel d'Bas Collection. VAM-3, "alligator eye". The variety has plenty of name recognition even if it does not appear in the VAM Top-100 listing. A flashing example with blatant cameo effect, some special designation would be unavoidable if only the fields offered better reflectivity. Tiny abrasions slip and slide all over Liberty's cheek, and even occasionally spill over into the obverse left field, while a handful of tiny marks land on the eagle's breast, accounting for the grade. Brilliant white and untoned.
