Description: Order Through Chaos Collection. Mintage: 1100. 1 graded PR-64 UCAM, 18 higher at NGC. As a high mintage proof, given the series, 1885 makes an excellent choice for ultra-cameo type representation, although by no means does that mean it is a "common" coin. The entire population of UCAM gold dollars for 1885 amounts to fewer than forty pieces, undoubtedly including resubmissions. Delightful reflectivity within the fields instantly proclaims an early proof striking within the emission run, with profoundly textured details floating placidly across the pools of liquid gold. As would be expected of a grade that did not quite meet gem expectations, a number of feathery hairlines dart into the fields, but require magnification as they are by no means distracting. A hint of die rust in the hair behind Liberty's ear merely adds to the charm of this diminutive specimen.
