Description: NY Marathon Collection. KM#2. A sensational example, the 1/4-gulden, struck for circulation in the West Indies, is not at all a rare type when found worn, but the cataloger has never before seen an example that even approaches the superb quality seen here. These were often made with adjustment marks, yet this bronze-grey coin displays practically glass-smooth surface texture, and even a couple of minute lint marks off the upper left corner of the shield, suggesting freshly prepared dies. An incredibly nice coin that clamors for status as the finest seen.
