Lot Title: 1813 ANACS MS-61
Lot Number: 610
Description: Nicholas Jackson Collection. Overton-105. For a grade of just MS-61, this is a sensational example of the 1813 O-105 if only because of the devastating eye-appeal. Exquisitely bright sky-blue and cobalt-rose color infiltrate from over the rims, stopping shy of the crimson-gold and peach-orange colors that predominate nearer the central devices. A blatant Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award winner, this half-dollar should also elicit interest due to unmarked and rather well-preserved surface quality that permits ready viewing of the clash marks characteristic of O-105. There will probably be some registry set zealot or upgrade specialist who will want to immediately crack this coin out and put into "some other" holder, but there is no denying the enormous appeal of these old ANACS slabs, especially when the treasure within look as nice as this. AMAZING!
