Description: Dabble Collection. 110 graded MS-63, 141 higher at NGC. Captivating on multiple levels, provenance to the S.S. Republic automatically places the coin in select company. When found in high grade (and MS-63 qualifies as "high grade" for this issue), the 1865-S can be a profoundly beautiful coin, as is exemplified by the intense, supremely frosted texture seen here. Satin-fresh fields suggest a higher grade, but one can soon find three to four linear abrasions on the portrait.
