Lot #: Go
Lot Title: Roman Empire - AD 69-79 denarius - NGC MS
Lot Number: 95
Description: Thrace Collection. Roman Empire, Vespasian. While the flan was a trifle undersized in diameter, the design nevertheless very nearly got struck entirely on the obverse, and only a bit of the reverse legends fall off the upper edge. Lustrous and deeply struck, the obverse retains considerable luster as does the reverse, although a planchet void must be noted. NGC also alleges "brushed" yet this still is a very desirable example. Obv: laureated head of Vespasian facing right, IMP CAESAR - VESPASIANVS AVG. Rev: Bare-headed emperor seated and facing right, holding scepter and branch.
