Description: Gigi Consignment. Mintage: 12,000. Often, 1889 will come prooflike, much like the other quarters and half-dollars of the era, due very much to the low emission off of fresh dies. Not so here, this blazing snow-white example exhibits strictly frosty luster and no evidence at all of prooflike characteristics. A very sharply struck example, all of the obverse stars were fully realized, as were individual segments in the eagle's talons.
