Lot Title: 1922-D PCGS MS-65RD CACCAC
Lot Number: 718
Description: Home Sweet Home Collection. 102 graded MS-65 RD, 28 higher at PCGS. The paucity of "better" examples speaks to the serious difficulty in locating a 1922-D with true, full (essentially) mint red color. Brilliant flame-orange takes on some pleasing magenta hues, but cedes nothing at all to brown on either side. Of course, only Denver struck cents in 1922 and the famous "plain" examples command high prices, this being a full-mintmark cent that very much does, interestingly, look similar to the "plain, weak reverse" examples that are highly coveted. A most interesting cent on many levels.
