Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1804 PCGS Good details/scratch
Lot Number: 610
Description: Home Sweet Home Collection. Sheldon-266, prime die state taken off of perfect dies. Three hairline scratches cross over the lower part of Liberty's bust, but in all honesty, at arm's length plus taking into account that this is, after all, a heavily worn piece, the issue does not seem all that severe. PCGS did not mention cleaning (do they indicate multiple problems? or only the most prominent?), but this might be a case where an expert could recolor the surface and simultaneously help play down the prominence of the scratches at the same time. The net of all this discussion is to point out that this is a very decent example of this famously difficult key date in the large-cent series.
