Lot Title: 1921 Standing Liberty quarter, and a 1937-D three-legged Buffalo nickel, both PCGS AU details/scratch
Lot Number: 226
Description: Hobnob Collection. A pair of much better coins will prove irresistible to many potential suitors despite a PCGS disclaimer of "scratch" per each one. First is a 1937-D three-legged buffalo nickel, superbly original and showing considerable flowline luster beneath olive-tan complexion. Multiple scratches on either side must have been inflicted immediately upon entering circulation since they have been worn a bit into the patina. The 1921 quarter has several near-invisible horizontal hairline scratches off right, and a surprisingly elusive diagonal scratch across the knees, both sides having also been wiped to excessive brightness. This latter piece might well benefit from placement in an album or Kraft envelope, and subsequent time to recover. Two coin lot.
