Description: Thrace Collection. Roman Empire, Lucius Verus. Obv: bare head of Lucius faces right, IMP LAVREL VERVS. Rev: Providentia stands facing left holding globe and cornucopia, PROV DEOR TR P COS II. Remarkable flowline luster and absolutely terrific sharpness on a perfectly centered obverse easily suggest the NGC 5/5 rating for strike. This really is a tremendous piece, and right at 50% of the border on the reverse was struck on the flan as well. The charming lead-grey surface displays the slightest hint of extremely light microporosity for the cynical collector, but all in all, no fault can be found.
