Description: The Bert Davies Collection. Bitkin-266, Diakov-242. 1751 C??, St. Petersburg mint. An extremely low certified population in mint-state indicates the rarity of the Elizabeth rouble in high grade, this being "choice about uncirculated" specimen per NGC. That said, the cataloger has had the pleasure of viewing at least two non-certified mint-state coins, so others do exist. But for all intents, this is about as close as a World type collector can hope to get to the best possible quality. Tin-grey patina layers over the surface but permits a very fair amount of luster to peep through. Well struck and rather well centered.
