Description: 6 graded MS-64+, 22 higher at NGC. The advent of steam power at the Philadelphia mint ushered in the era of consistent (relatively speaking) strike quality, but also witnessed the last gasp of John Reich's "capped Liberty" design, coinciding with the final four years of production of the motifs. The advantages of the steam press may be readily appreciated with the very sharp strike seen on either side of this profoundly frosted example. The eagle's talons are brought up with every segment delineated, and Liberty's tresses display absolutely no weakness. Grade-limiting factors appear to hinge upon only three or four tiny contact marks on Liberty's cheek.
