Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1896-S, 1897-S, and 1914-S, all PCGS G-4 CACCAC
Lot Number: 749
Description: Each appears to be ever-so-slightly nicer than usual for certified examples, which is not to disparage third-party grading... it's just that the cataloger remembers the good old days when a simple, accurate "good" grade correlated to full rims. Nevertheless, these describe nicely as follows: 1896-S (strong obverse rim, decent reverse rim, exceedingly original and honestly smooth with a trivial reverse toning spot), 1897-S (terrific rims on either side, bold tan with gunmetal highlights), and 1914-S (decent obverse rim and about half the reverse rim, and a bit pale overall yet seemingly original). San Francisco only for this three coin lot.
