Description: Noe-16 (late die-state) serves type collectors well because it is a plentiful die-marriage, probably as common as R.2. That being said, very seldom will it be found in this exceptionally late die-state, possibly terminal or nearly so. The cataloger has not personally viewed a later coin. On the date side, spindly die cracks have broken out within and around " AN", and this latter letter has been complete overtaken by noticeable die failure. On the tree side, massive failure beneath the tree's base has caused the die to raise an irregular blob out of that area of the design. "Damage" amounts to a few deeper, wispy scrapes and the like which, unfortunately, are a bit out of character even for a coin of this vintage.
