Description: Crackle And Pop Collection. VAM-67. The value of the 1879-S "reverse of '78" has risen consistently over the past couple of decades as more and more collectors attempt to build nicer sets and discover that this is a somewhat more difficult Redbook variety than expected. In addition, with so many VAMs for the date, there is plenty of demand by specialists for multiple die-marriages of the date. Considerable moss-green and verdant blue toning joins with cinnamon-gold and ruddy accents over the obverse, while the reverse shows some pretty crimson-gold album coloration near the rims.
