Description: Mintage: 3200. 1 graded MS-63+, 38 higher at NGC. Low mintage emissions dominated the gold dollar series after 1875, but 1876 is considered the scarcest of this latter era. The exceedingly low mintage, indicative of lightly used dies, helps explain why this is such a near-prooflike coin, and the details have been nicely imparted by the dies.
