Lot Title: Three 1892 World's Columbian Exposition 50mm E-101 Aluminum Liberty Head medals certified by NGC
Lot Number: 847
Description: All are UCAM specimens, two have garnered a PF-66 grade level, the final piece graded PF-65 UCAM. Regardless, each is an absolutely dazzling, pristine brilliant-white medal, and they legitimately look as if they were struck out of silver planchets, although aluminum would have been considered a scarcer and more desirable choice of material to contemporary collectors. The obverse somewhat mimics the motif of a Morgan dollar, with Liberty facing left within a placid sea of deeply mirrored brilliance. On the reverse, Christopher Columbus and his accompanying party are depicted raising a flag to proclaim dominion over the New World. Three medal lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
