Description: As becomes a half-dollar on the cusp of the "superb" level, the Elgin appears completely mark-free even under intense scrutiny, until a very limited number of linear abrasions are found nearly blended into the pioneer's hair. The San Diego faces up with exceedingly white, blinding luster and displays a hint of roll friction on the highest points. Finally, a gorgeous admixture of auburn-grey and luminous cyan layers over the obverse of the Stone Mountain while its reverse has become blanketed by thickly original olive-rust patina. Luster to spare for this three coin lot.
