Description: All barber half-dollars become elusive at the "gem" level so it is no surprise that it takes a lot of positives for even the common 1909 to achieve that level. Here is a rather bright, vividly lustrous example that features eggshell patina and an additional touch of toast-gold on the reverse. Although possibly struck from slightly worn dies, striking pressure was more than ample and brought up all the details, including fully segmented stars.
