Description: Captain Jack Collection. VAM-1A, the "worm eye", so-named because of a drooping die gouge over the front of the eye. This is about as close as a strike can get to perfection without actually achieving it. Details on the reverse do appear to be just about completely rendered, while merely two curls merge over Liberty's ear, thus denying perfection. Thus, roller marks on the cheek are faint in the extreme. A phenomenally lustrous example with a plethora of die-polish lines in the fields.
