Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1893-S NGC XF-45
Lot Number: 471
Description: Stiffarm Collection. Remarkable for the grade of XF-45, either side retains substantial mint luster, with long, swooping curving bands on the obverse, and windmill effect on the reverse that is highly suggestive of the AU level. There is no question at all that this lust-worthy specimen should get, at minimum, an XF-45 grade from any competent grading service, every time. The lozenge-shaped area above the ear might be the best pickup point for sharpness, as it blends a handful of curls, indicative of brief but significant circulation wear, and the eagle's breast is about two-thirds smoothed over as well. Vigilant collectors may notice a pair of slightly erratic abrasions at the back of the cheek, but they blend well with the overall texture and are perfectly harmonious with "choice extremely-fine".
