Lot Title: 1893-S NGC Good-4
Lot Number: 468
Description: Stiffarm Collection. When THE key to your Morgan dollar set is going to be heavily worn, it's only common sense to pick out a superior, original example with zero issues. That is why the present 1893-S garners the Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award. Right off the bat, the grade could not be more pinpoint accurate, given absolutely complete rims all the way around both sides, albeit a touch of faintness nearly meets the fields at the obverse upper left. From the reverse, a faint rim bump at the extreme right is of no consequence at all, nor is a tiny rim tick just above it, and the wear is smooth, honest, crunchy and altogether appropriate for the G-4 level. And finally, utterly perfect ash-grey patina meets antique pewter accents to create the perfectly natural appearance that savvy collectors covet today.
