Lot Title: 1893-CC PCGS MS-63 (green label)
Lot Number: 465
Description: Captain Jack Collection. VAM-2A, according to the reference, supposedly represents some of the very last dollars struck in Carson City, and thereby command a premium above actual scarcity due to collector interest. That this is the "A" die-state cannot be questioned since the two clashes in front of the neck are plainly visible with a loupe, as is the diagnostic chip on the right of the "3". Finally, the VAM reference states that "Late die stage examples of this marriage are identified by the presence of two strong 'cap vee' clash marks between the wreath bough and wing along with fine cracks thru the letters of AMERICA" -- again, exactly as present for this phenomenally well-struck, frost-white example. You already know how badly you want this one.
