Lot Title: 1850-O NGC MS-61
Lot Number: 308
Description: Kansas City Collection. 6 graded MS-61, 8 higher at NGC. No Seated dollars can be considered common when located at the mint-state level, but 1850-O has few peers for rarity, as NGC's population report reveals. Evidently, nearly every representative from the original low mintage entered circulation and stayed there, resulting in a meagre supply of uncirculated coins today. Gleaming peach-orange luster tones over the obverse, and competes with mostly gunmetal-grey and almond tones on the reverse. The resulting patination tends to downplay luster a bit, but also helps to attenuate fleeting hairlines in the fields. Very few contact marks encroach upon either side.
