Description: Mintage: 91,584. Relative to southern gold issues, the 1852-D stands as a more common five, stemming from a respectable emission quantity. Thin patina, at best, layers the surface and promotes citrus-gold overall color, along with palpable flowline effect within the peripheral areas. A bit better struck than many pieces, the stars are scarcely detailed, but the hair curls, and all of the eagle's feathers remain present to some degree.
