Description: Bert Davies Collection. A quartet of half-dollar types covers only three separate types but spans nearly a century of emission. These include: 1810 O-101a (VF-35, superb original with dusky coral-grey, typical blunt strike), 1855-O (XF-45, stone-grey with only the faintest trace of luster), 1897 (AU/cleaned, pale iron-grey with the surface significantly dulled by hairlines), and 1905 (AU/cleaned, substantial silvery luster, but slightly crowded by hairlines and occasional surface residue). The latter pieces need to rest in an album for a couple of decades in order to restore a bit of vintage appeal. Four coin lot.
