Description:	In the early years of the China Mint Company's production of Panda bullion coins there was little to no interest amongst the numismatic community. Due to the overall lack of interest the mintages of many early year issues were minute to say the least. The 1987 two coin Silver Panda collection was no exception to the rule. Bothe the 5oz and 1oz. coins display a "playing panda" reverse design that is identically counterbalanced by the tradition Temple of Heaven reverse design. With limited mintages of 25,000 and 30,000 pieces respectively, this is an increasingly difficult set to find in its original government packaging with COA. Lastly, there is also a 1987 5oz. silver panda medallion that was struck in a limited mintage of 2,000 total pieces to commemorate the Long Beach Expo. Pristine Chinese Panda material is increasingly more difficult to attain as fewer of these mint fresh items make their way back to the market (ck).
