Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1901-O PCGS MS-63
Lot Number: 874
Description: To a certain degree, the Barber half-dollar series does not contain any truly major "keys" beneath the XF level or so -- but this 1901-O is far nicer than XF! The challenge of locating a nicer mint-state 1901-O is well-recognized by enthusiasts, and even "about-uncirculated" examples are highly desirable. This choice example will have no difficulty finding a suitor. Banana-gold dresses up the surface but doesn't hide a not-so-complete strike, as can be discerned by modest softness at the eagle's right (observed) talon. Mild slide-marks caress the cheek and might play a role in determining the grade.
