Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1883 PCGS MS-65 (rattler) CACCAC
Lot Number: 862
Description: While not prooflike as are many examples of circulation-strike 1883 half-dollars, pinpoint accuracy of detail is just one of several exceptional characteristics awaiting the fortunate new owner of this stupendous gem. Upon closer inspection, sharpness is maybe not absolutely perfect given trivial softness at the top of Liberty's head and very small areas of inexactitude at the eagle's left (observed) talon, but these are trifling issues of absolutely no consequence. What collectors will really care about is what makes this half-dollar an obvious Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award winner. Deeply saturated turquoise and midnight-blue encircles three-quarters of the obverse, surrounding vivid cinnamon-gold and greyish-orange coloration, and this incredibly attractive, awe-inspiring visual pattern dominates both sides.
