Description: The Isallobar Collection. Mintage: 900. Always esteemed as the key proof-only issue, 1877 was struck in such low quantity that almost any example will display some level of cameo contrast. That seen here would not qualify for a designation, but there is a distinct shift in surface texture between the mirrored fields and the delicate frost on the obverse portrait. Perhaps a couple of crumbles of PVC stray into the fields.
