Description: How could it be that a coin representing so much money in 1907 could have been put away for a hundred-plus years, just to resurface in the hands of a collector today? A true prize within today's sale, the entire surface seems to have somehow evaded contact, with a couple of tiny luster grazes left of Liberty's brow being the only possible hint of surface contact. On the reverse, a single dot of carbon dangles beneath the eagle's beak, while a small depression right of his neck appears to be as-struck. Tiny steely accents glint from the surface and play off the rich, deeply saturated orange hue.
