Lot Title: 1896 PCGS MS-66
Lot Number: 156
Description: When comparing properly graded coins, the difference between MS-65 and MS-66 can be telling. This memorable 1896 quarter-eagle offers so much for the one point gain that it's easy to become spoiled by what such a specimen has to offer. An absolutely reverberating strike has brought up every vestige of detail, even at the eagle's talons. Such a strike tends to bring out the best luster, which is just the case as speedy bands of luminescence pinwheel through the fields. The obverse seems flawless and it's difficult to find even a single contact mark that could be mentioned, while the reverse displays an isolated patch of faint hairlines in the right field,
