Description: Bert Davies Collection. KM#11, Switzerland Confederation 5-francs, Bern mint. Dusky lavender-grey and ebony hues endow the obverse and most of the reverse, except for a surprisingly thick patch of hairlines across the central reverse. Both dies were rusted prior to preparation for production of this scarce type, as can be inferred by coarse texture atop the higher relief portions of the design. The key to the Seated Helvetia type.
