Lot Title: Sterling Silver Native American Cuff Bracelets
Lot Number: 316
Description: This lot includes a collection of four Old Pawn (C.1960) Native American/Southwest Indian (Navajo) cuff bracelets – two large and two small. Made of sterling silver (not marked but tested) and featuring natural turquoise nuggets (stabilized) the cuffs are a combination of unsigned and signed. The two smaller pieces are unsigned, while one of the larger (with the fan ends) bears the original grease pencil price of $500 as well as makers marks of BB (possibly Benson Boyd, Navajo). The other large cuff also bears a grease pencil mark of $355 and the maker name of David F Garcia (Santo Domingo). The turquoise in the the cuffs appear to be from two, maybe three different mines – Morenci, Indian Mountain and Nevada Blue, though we cannot be entirely sure. These are just fabulous bracelets from an era when Indian craftsmen couldn’t turn out the product fast enough! 10.78 troy ounces.
