Lot Title: Two Watches with Native American Bands
Lot Number: 289
Description: Another beauty by master Navajo goldsmith Tim Bedah (b.1945) of Gallup, N.M. A Lorus watch is held in place with a gold colored Spiedel watch strap and two 14K Gold panels set with Lone Mountain turquoise cabs (precision cut, invisible setting) and two faceted round diamonds, .03 ct. each, SI1 clarity, G-H color. The two solid gold panels bear Mr. Bedah’s hallmark (T Bedah in script) as well as 14K. This lot also includes a Timex quartz watch which is held fast with a gold tone Speidel watch strap and two 14K gold panels set with 12 bezel set natural turquoise nuggets (stabilized). The watch straps are signed by the goldsmith, N. Nalley or N. Valley along with 14K. Our research failed to turn up any information on this Native American goldsmith but the artisan certainly knew how to make an ordinary watch look like a million dollars! The turquoise nuggets appear to be from the Kingman mine, they have that lovely blue coloring so desired in these types of stones.
